Trips to Looe Island
While you are enjoying the view from Bay View Camping you may well notice Looe Island, an island steeped in history but it is now home to a wonderful nature reserve, you can visit the island while you are here.
You can only make the trip to the island on an organised trip, this is to ensure that the wildlife that calls the island home is protected as much as possible, there are only a few hours each day when the island is accessible, this is due to the tide, the small passenger boat named Moonraker will be able to access the island during this window.
Once you land on Looe Island you will have a few hours to explore and then due to tides you will have to return to Looe, while on the island you can experience a wonderful view of the coast that is not seen by many, as well as some wonderful sights of the wildlife that calls the island home, you may well even see some grey seal on the 20 minute journey to the island.
Staying at Bay View Camping allows you to have access to Looe easily, which is where the boat departs from, board the boat from the floating pontoon near the lifeboat station slipway in East Looe and get ready for an adventure.
The prices for the trip are really not to much at all and you will get to experience a journey and view of wildlife that not many people get the chance to.
If you would like any more information regarding Looe Island then please do get in touch, we will be happy to help in any way we can and are also more than happy to point you in the right direction when you get here.
